The challenge

The platform faced an outdated, low-engagement UI, poor checkout conversion rates, and the need to expand into an agency and affiliate model, all while dealing with slow build times, complex third-party integrations, and unsustainable AWS costs that limited scalability and performance.

Design phase

The project began with an extensive design phase lasting about two  months. Our design team worked closely with Elite Sports to capture  their vision for the new user interface and additional features.

UI Revamp: Developed a modern, intuitive interface using React and Next.js.

Feature design: Designed new features like the flight booking option for future integration.

The project began with an extensive design phase lasting about two  months. Our design team worked closely with Elite Sports to capture  their vision for the new user interface and additional features.

Front-End Development
Created a responsive and dynamic user interface. Improved the landing page and checkout flow to enhance conversion rates.
Back-End Development
Built a robust server-side architecture using Node.js, Express, and Prisma. Implemented a scalable PostgreSQL database.
Agency Platform Development
Developed a new platform from scratch for travel agencies and affiliates. Enabled agencies to book packages, track commissions, and manage bookings through a dedicated portal.

Scaling phase

After establishing a solid foundation during the initial development phase,  our collaboration with Elite Sports evolved into a data-driven partnership. We transitioned from simply handling their development tasks to becoming a strategic ally in their growth journey.

By integrating June to track key performance metrics, we unlocked insights that guided smarter decisions. One notable achievement was transforming the checkout process. Through detailed monitoring of user behavior at  every step of the flow, we identified friction points and reimagined the experience to address them. The result? A 7x improvement in checkout conversions.

This phase was defined by continuous  iteration and optimization, ensuring every feature and adjustment delivered tangible value to both Elite Sports and its users.

API-first product

Elite Sports is built as an API-first product, relying on integrations with Ticket Evolution for event tickets, Expedia for hotel bookings, and an upcoming Amadeus integration for flights, enabling real-time availability and pricing that delivers a seamless and reliable booking experience.

Conclusion

Elite Sports improved scalability by reducing build times from 30 to 10 minutes through build process restructuring and optimized API calls, enhancing performance to handle higher traffic with smoother deployments, and strengthening security by implementing Next.js middleware to protect sensitive data. This transformation resulted in a modern, user friendly platform positioned to meet the demands of sports travelers and compete as a leader in the sports travel package market.
